PROPERTIES
OXID VERNIS is a single pack clear varnish, enriched with polyurethane-modified alkyd resins for use on new or oxidised metals that have previously been treated with OWATROL OIL and where the natural look of the surface is to be maintained. Combining performance with ease of application, OXID VERNIS is long lasting, has high UV resistance and is especially adapted for harsh climates.

WHERE TO USE
- Interior and exterior (Matt: interior only).
- Horizontal and vertical.
- New or oxidised surfaces.
- Ferrous and Non-ferrous metals.
- Furniture, Gates, Fences, Ornaments, Pergolas… (NOT Floors – see FLOOR VERNIS).

RECOMMENDATIONS BEFORE Application
- Cover and protect everything you do not wish to coat.
- Apply between 10°C (50°F) and 30°C (86°F).
- Do not apply in direct sunlight or to hot surfaces (35°C+ (95°F+)).
Application
- Use as is. Do not thin.
- Stir well before and during use.
- Apply 1st coat of OXID VERNIS and allow to dry 24 hours.
- Sand surface with 280 grit abrasive and thoroughly dust off.
- Apply 2nd coat of OXID VERNIS.
- Note: Adding OWATROL OIL to OXID VERNIS, makes brushing easier and gives OXID VERNIS even greater flexibility, further reducing the risk of peeling and cracking.
Recommendations after Application
- Clean all tools and equipment with White Spirits while still wet. If allowed to dry, remove with paint stripper.
Maintenance
OXID VERNIS in good condition:
- Sand surface with 280 grit abrasive and thoroughly dust off.
- Apply 1st coat OXID VERNIS with 25% OWATROL® OIL* added.
- Allow to dry 24 to 48 hours.
- Apply 2nd coat of OXID VERNIS.
OXID VERNIS in poor condition:
- See “Previously Coated Surfaces” in “Surface Preparation” above.
- Apply OXID VERNIS as directed in “Application” above.
