PROPERTIES

OWAPHOS is a rust remover and passivater for ferrous and non-ferrous metals as well as galvanised and zinc coated surfaces. Negating the need for sanding, OWAPHOS quickly and effectively, chemically prepares new metal surfaces for painting by creating a fine coat of oxide on the surface that coatings can firmly adhere to. Used diluted OWAPHOS removes rust from ferrous metals and the oxidation from non-ferrous metals e.g. Aluminium, Galvanised and Zinc surfaces.

  • True chemical sanding – Modifies the surface of the metal.
  • Phosphate coats the surface – Passivates the substrate.
  • Chemically reacts to create a fine coat of oxide on the surface.
  • Optimises adhesion of the finish to smooth surfaces.
  • Improves anti-corrosion resistance of painted metals.
  • Easier preparation of the substrate – Avoids tedious mechanical sanding.
  • Removes rust from ferrous metals.
  • Eliminates oxidation on non-ferrous metals (Aluminium, Zinc, Galvanised metal).
  • Excellent wetting properties – Rust and Limescale break up more easily.
  • Restores the shine to chromed surfaces that have been affected by limescale.
